To make the ghost shape a sponge cake was cut into cubes which were than placed on top of each other to create a very approximate ghost shape. The basic shape was than covered with apricot jam to slightly redefine the cake shape. A piece of white marzipan was rolled out in a circle and then placed on top of the cake.

The secret to creating a marzipan ghost cake is to roll out the white marzipan in a thick layer, this will prevent the marzipan from falling apart when handling it and placing it on the cake.
